What ages can join the Youth Choir?
Our choir is open to students ages 7 and up. Some younger students with prior musical experience may be accepted with the instructor's approval. Each group is designed to be age-appropriate, so every singer feels comfortable and challenged.
Do I need to be taking voice lessons to join the choir?
No, you don't need to take private voice lessons to participate in our youth choir! The choir itself provides excellent vocal training in a group setting. However, many students find that combining choir with private voice lessons helps them grow even faster as singers.
Do I need prior singing experience to join?
No experience is required! Students learn everything from proper breathing and posture to matching pitch and blending as a group. The focus is on progress, teamwork, and fun.
What styles of music does the choir perform?
Our repertoire focuses on modern, engaging songs that kids love to sing, including pop hits, musical theater, and film soundtracks. Past choir performances have included songs from Wicked, Hamilton, Disney, and other popular favorites! The songs are carefully arranged for young voices, so every student shines.
How big are the choir classes?
Each group typically has 10 to 15 students. This size allows for plenty of individual attention while keeping the full, exciting sound of a true ensemble.
What if my child is shy or nervous about singing in front of others?
That’s totally normal! Many students start out shy. Our director creates a friendly, low-pressure environment where kids can gradually build confidence and feel comfortable performing.
