Adult Music Lessons in Santa Clarita & Granada Hills

At West Coast Music Academy, we know that every musician’s journey is different. Whether you’ve been playing piano since you were a child, or have developed an interest in music later in life, we all enjoy music in different ways.
However, we also know that not everyone was afforded the same opportunities to learn music at a young age. That’s why we offer the best music lessons for adults in Santa Clarita and Granada Hills, so you can start learning at your own pace. Whether you took lessons as a child or have never picked up an instrument before, we work with you to help you become the musician you want to be.

  • You played when you were younger and want to pick it back up again

At West Coast Music Academy, we’re dedicated to ensuring that every student who walks through our doors feels welcome and inspired to become their best musical self. Whether you played an instrument when you were younger, or are exploring a new interest, WMCA is the perfect place for you.

AM I TOO OLD TO TAKE ADULT MUSIC LESSONS?

There’s a common misconception among potential adult music students that they’re too old to begin taking lessons. Fortunately, it’s completely false! There’s no age limit on learning music. Even if you’re a complete beginner who has never touched an instrument before, it’s never too late to learn. While there are certainly differences in the way children and adults learn music, this can actually benefit you!

DO INSTRUCTORS LIKE TEACHING ADULT MUSIC STUDENTS?

Another common fear associated with adult music lessons is that the teacher may not enjoy working with adult students. Again, this is not true! In fact, our professional music teachers love working with adults. Not only do lessons tend to be more relaxed and focused, our teachers appreciate working with someone closer to their own age and status. All of our teachers are dedicated to helping their adult music students reach their goals, whatever they may be.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF TAKING ADULT MUSIC LESSONS?

The benefits of early childhood music lessons are well documented, from improving development to increasing confidence. But what about adult music lessons? Turns out, learning an instrument as an adult comes with its own host of benefits. Taking music lessons as an adult can help:

  • Relieve stress

  • Improve your mood

  • Keep your mind sharp and active

  • Improve personal and professional discipline

  • Stave off memory loss

  • Improve and practice motor skills

  • Offset the deterioration of speech and hearing

  • Improve confidence and self-esteem

  • Create additional opportunities to build and grow your community

HOW DOES SCHEDULING ADULT MUSIC LESSONS WORK?

At West Coast Music Academy, we know how busy your schedule can be. Even if you can set aside 30 minutes a week to go to a lesson, it can be hard to have enough time to practice every week. While this is an understandable concern, you don’t have to worry! Our teachers understand that adult students tend to be busy, and are much more flexible with them. We work with you to brainstorm creative ways to fit practice time into your schedule each week, and never judge if you don’t have time to do so. Our teachers understand that you’re busy, and can still plan fun, productive lessons that you can benefit from.

We also understand that sometimes, something comes up. That’s why we offer unlimited private make-up lessons as long as you provide 24-hour notice of your lesson cancellation. You can make up your lesson with your music teacher or even a different teacher or instrument if you feel like shaking things up!
